In the Ray Bradbury story, All Summer in a Day, children on the constantly drizzly world of Venus are very excited to see the sun appear, which has not appeared in 7 years.
The
girl, Margot, who recalls the sun on Earth, is bullied by her peers,
and is locked in a closet as they run outside to enjoy the short day of
sunlight.
As
the rain subsides, the children are aware they have abandoned Margot
and that there is a moment of guilt and self-reflection on what they
have done.
